Completed in eleven months, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium brought professional sports to the South and established Atlanta as a "major-league city".

 

The glory of the 1996 Olympic Games can be traced in large part to that steel-and-concrete arena that once stood on Capitol Avenue.
