Joe Simpson joins the FSN South and SportSouth broadcast team for the 2007 season.

 

He began his career as a Braves broadcaster in 1992 and during his 15 years in the booth, has called games on television for TBS and Turner South and on radio for WGST-AM and WKLS-FM.

 

Prior to joining the Braves broadcast team, Simpson worked as a television analyst for the Seattle Mariners for five years.

 

An eleven-year veteran of Major League Baseball, Simpson played outfield and first base during a playing career that included time with the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

 

Born in Purcell, Oklahoma, Simpson was an All-American outfielder and first baseman at the University of Oklahoma.
